With the climate crisis becoming an increasing threat to humanity, it is fair to theorise that soon world governments could come together over this shared fear to find potential salvation for humanity. This project focuses on the possibility of humans becoming a multi-planetary species.

The backstory for the design project assumes that Mars will start with a small community of twelve of the world’s best scientists, doctors, engineers, and pilots. In the initial months and years on the planet, they will need a vehicle for research purposes, allowing them to explore the tough terrain of Mars further. It should be capable of shuttling two crew members with basic sampling equipment over expansive rocky and sandy surfaces away from the main research base and back.

Natural disasters and global conflicts are increasing. Using naval vessels to solely complete aid and relief is an outdated idea. FAR is an aid and relief vessel concept and example of versatile humanitarian support efficiency, through the use of private vessel ownership.

An aid and relief vessel not only delivers supplies, but also evacuates people and restarts societies. Versatility becomes imperative, meaning ordinary vessels may not be enough. When commissioning a new superyacht, ‘ordinary’ is something to avoid. A crane rated to lift four tonnes of supplies is also capable of lifting a hypercar.

The current electric era offers performance and stats that were previously not possible. For the driver, however, their experience is predominantly through the medium of sight and the sense of g-forces. To date, sounds and vibrations haven’t been developed to enhance the driver experience.

This project sets out to challenge conventions and develop the principle that considers each component as an instrument in an orchestra. At its core, OTO consists of four air columns that form the chassis. Each produces a sound similar to a wind instrument, manipulating the air to create unique individual sounds, together with disruptive airflow from the wheels and body, mixing to create a visceral harmony of noise.

Acting as a permanent residence for the stagecoach theatre school in Merthyr Tydfil who currently use local schools during evenings and weekends., this theatre will give local children a place to learn and experience what the performing arts can be. With a mix of spaces for both dance and acting, students are able to perform and showcase what they have learnt in the building’s theatre. This will also be used by local performers such as small bands, drama groups, or even comedians.

As part of a wider masterplan which contains restaurants, bars, and outdoor performance spaces, the theatre school acts as part of a new quarter in Merthyr Tydfil with the aim to add to and enhance the historic town.

The use of local slate on the ground floors act as a base for the contrasting upper floors to sit upon with their white finish. A large amount of landscaping has also been introduced to promote wildlife and create an inviting space for visitors.

"Since the industrial revolution, engineering

and technology has been at the forefront of

global development, and men have led the

way in breaking new ground.

We as women, as engineers, scientists, and

researchers, are changing the perception

of these industries and encouraging young

women to break down their own barriers

and be inspired by the opportunities STEM

careers can ofer.

I have met some fantastic women during

my time in the Motorcycle industry including

of whom have their own success stories of

overcoming social biases within the industry.

Our place as women is wherever

we decide it to be."

I chose this course for three reasons: the DBA is one of the most advanced degrees available to those in the field of business and is globally recognized; it will help me stand out from the pack of MBA graduates as it shows that I am willing to go that extra mile to prepare for a leadership position, and, a DBA degree will open multiple career paths as this degree not only identifies me as an expert in my field, but has enabled me to acquire a set of management and decision-making skills that may quality me for senior-level leadership positions and new career opportunities.

One of the most important skills that the DBA has taught me is critical thinking and that everything can be questioned, no matter how long established and how widely a received wisdom it is. I feel that I have gained confidence in my own analytical skills, as well as in the work I produce.

The UWTSD London campus is one of the most upbeat

and exciting places to study with experienced and professional staff, as well as knowledgeable lecturers, who are there on every step of my learning journey.
